Jesus told his followers to ‘love our neighbours as we love ourselves’, and the New Testament tells Christians to submit to governments and authorities. We believe that science is a good way to understand the world God made.

This means we’re committed not just to complying with government regulations around Covid-19 because we have to, but because it is good and loving for us to do so. We also believe that gathering together as a community who love God, love one another, and love our neighbours is a good and important thing to do within the parameters set by our Government and our public health experts.

A church is a ‘place of worship’ and so has its own Government approved Industry Covid Safe Plan that we are complying with. Here are some of the things we are doing.

Service Streaming…

While Covid-19 restrictions are in place we are broadcasting our services via Zoom. If you’re new to our community and would like to join us via Zoom, please email Nathan for the weekly link, or follow us on Facebook.

If you have any Covid-19 symptoms, as documented by the Queensland Government, we would love you to join us online, but hold off coming along in person until you are symptom free.

Masks

The Queensland Government presently requires the wearing of masks. We believe masks are a good way to limit transmission, and wearing them is an act of love for our neighbours.

Check-in and Handwashing

When you arrive at church on a Sunday we have hand sanitiser available and we will require you to check-in using the Queensland Government’s Covid Safe app. It might be worth arriving a few minutes earlier than you’d otherwise plan to help us manage this process.

Communion

We are continuing to share communion, or the Lord’s Supper, weekly. Portions are individually prepared by people wearing gloves and masks, and distributed in a ‘contactless’ way. You are welcome to participate or not participate as you are comfortable.

Social Distancing

Under the 1 person per 4sqm rule we have space for 65 people each Sunday. We’re asking our regulars to RSVP, and trying to keep room for visitors. If you are interested in coming along on a Sunday please email Nathan.

Food

While Covid-19 restrictions are in place we have decided not to have morning tea, or serve coffee, at our services. People from our church community regularly head across the road to the Junction Hotel for lunch instead.
